Tyler W. Ferris, D.D.S., M.S.
Dr. Ferris was born in San Antonio and raised in Brady, Texas. After earning his bachelor’s degree at Texas A&M University, he gained early acceptance into the number one ranked dental school in the country at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio where he earned his Doctorate of Dental Surgery. There he received numerous awards and was valedictorian of his class. He then received his orthodontic specialty training at Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas where he was awarded the Outstanding Achievement Award for Excellence in Orthodontics. In May 2003, Dr. Ferris was awarded the Earl Shepard Award of Distinction for achieving the highest score in the nation on the American Board of Orthodontics Phase II Examination, which tests one’s knowledge of diagnosis and treatment of various orthodontic problems. He has lectured at the Gorman Institute annual meeting.
Dr. Ferris has been in practice since 2001. Dr. Ferris and his wife, Sharlynn, reside in Boerne with their daughters Madison and Emmy. His interests outside of orthodontics include time with family, participating in stock shows and rodeos with his daughters, ranching and church activities.
